Testimonies

Olya was always friendly, kind, and  exceptionally patient. What I loved most was the way she tailored her lessons to compliment my daughter’s passion for music. Olya inspired my daughter to learn her favourite songs on the piano while also focusing on the basics. It was beautiful to see my daughter, who is a beginner, play her favourite song passionately on the piano. – Leona McKay

I started taking lessons with Olya just under a year ago. I am an adult student and hadn’t played a note of piano in over 20 years. She was patient with me as she taught me the basics and has helped me progress so much faster than I thought I could. I always feel comfortable and supported by Olya and also she is able to challenge me and inspire me to play different styles of music and even songs I thought were “too hard”.  Her passion for playing music is contagious and as a teacher she always goes above and beyond, even managing to find sheet music for and teach me the obscure song I heard that had made me want to start playing again. She doesn’t only help you learn the song but to really feel it and be confident to share your music with others. Thank you Olya for everything I have learned from you so far!!  –Jane Krindle

I have been playing the piano for 27 years and have been in Olya’s class since last Winter 2018. Olya is an outstanding piano professor. She puts her skills, determination, kindness, and patience to encourage me to play better. I have been able to improve my technique and played the Nocturne #13 of Chopin in May 2018 during a concert before an audience of 100 persons. I am currently learning a Bach prelude and a Rachmaninov Elegy. Her teaching style is rigorous but genuine and she has a good sense of humour that helps get stuff done with a smile. Olya applies the Russian piano teaching technique by helping me overcome the technical difficulties along with my resistance to read and play difficult music sheets. Since 1999, I have studied with four different piano teachers. Olya is one of the best professors I have ever had. I look forward to continuing her class in September. – Pierre Rondier
